Pole vaulter Yelena Isinbayeva won gold in Athens and Beijing but failed to win any major titles during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. In February, she seemed to return to form overnight at a meet in Stockholm, clearing a height of 5.01 m to break her own indoor world record by a centimeter. With 28 world records now under her belt, she’s hoping to make it 29 in London. As the 30-year-old Isinbayeva told reporters in Sweden, “Next time I’ll get them to raise the bar by three or four centimeters instead of just one.”
