Nickname: “Baby Horse”
Sport: Soccer
Country: USA
Alex “Baby Horse” Morgan, one of the youngest players on the U.S. women’s soccer team, first made a national name for herself at Cal-Berkeley when she led the powerful Golden Bears in scoring as a freshman in 2007. She’s currently a forward for the Western New York Flash of the Women’s Professional Soccer league. As for that nickname: She was the youngest member (the baby) of the American squad that lost on penalty kicks to Japan in the final of the 2011 Women’s World Cup, and her long legs, to this day, sometimes make her look like she’s galloping on the pitch. (See: “Iron Hammer” and Gehrig reference.)
