All eyes were on knee-whacked Nancy Kerrigan during the 1994 Lillehammer Winter Olympics, but the U.S. figure-skating champion lost the gold to Ukraine’s Oksana Baiul. While waiting an unusually long time for the awards ceremony to start, Kerrigan was caught on camera complaining about the delay (officials were looking for a copy of the Ukrainian national anthem) and wondering if Baiul was backstage putting on makeup, even though she was “only going to cry again.”
