At 37 years of age, Oksana Chusovitina is a woman in a sport of teenage pixies. She first participated in the Olympics in 1992—before many of her rivals were even born—and she won gold as part of the Unified team. London is her sixth consecutive games. A nine-time world medalist on vault, she earned the silver medal in Beijing and another silver at the most recent World Championships in Tokyo. She qualified for the vault final in London with the fourth-highest score.
